Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data AutoM8 Tech collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

AutoM8 Tech (Bartle House, Oxford Court, Manchester, England, M2 3WQ, registered in England and Wales, company number 12576758) provides AI-powered driver safety technology for vehicle fleets and insurers.

For personal data collected through this website, and for our own business records, AutoM8 Techis the data controller. For data generated by devices installed in a customer's vehicles, the fleet operator is normally the controller and we act as their processor — see section 4.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at khizzer@autom8tech.ai.

2. Data we collect from this website

  • Enquiries. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, company name (if given) and the content of your message, so that we can reply.
  • Demo requests. The contact details and fleet information you choose to give us when requesting a demonstration.
  • Account data. If you create an account: your name, email address, organisation, and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Technical logs. Our servers record IP address, request time, page or endpoint requested and browser user-agent. These logs protect the service against abuse and help us diagnose faults.

3. Why we may contact you, and on what basis

  • To answer you. Replying to an enquiry or demo request — our legitimate interest in responding to someone who contacted us.
  • To provide the service. Operating your account and the AutoM8 platform — performance of our contract with you or your organisation.
  • To keep the service safe. Rate limiting, abuse prevention and security logging — our legitimate interest in protecting the service and its users.
  • To send you updates. Only where you have asked us to — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects about you.

4. Vehicle, driver and video data

The AutoM8 platform processes data generated by devices that a fleet operator installs in their own vehicles. This can include vehicle location and telemetry, driver-behaviour and safety events, and images or video recorded by road-facing and in-cab cameras. Video of a driver is personal data about that driver.

Where this data belongs to a customer's fleet, that customer decides what is collected and why, and is the data controller for it. We process it on their documented instructions under a data processing agreement. It is the fleet operator's responsibility to inform their drivers about what is recorded and to establish a lawful basis for it.

If you are a driver and you want to know what is recorded about you, please contact your employer or fleet operator first. If you cannot reach them, contact us and we will help route your request.

5. Where your data is stored

Our production systems and stored footage are hosted in data centres in Germany (European Union). Email we send is handed to a third-party SMTP relay for delivery. Where any provider we use processes data outside the UK or EEA, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent safeguards.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries and demo requests: up to 24 months from last contact.
  • Account data: for as long as the account is active, then up to 12 months.
  • Technical and security logs: up to 12 months.
  • Fleet and video data: for the retention period configured by the fleet operator, after which it is deleted automatically.

7. Sharing

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run AutoM8 — hosting, email delivery and similar infrastructure — under contract and only for that purpose. We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend legal claims.

8. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis we rely on. To exercise any of these, email khizzer@autom8tech.ai. We will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the UK supervisory authority for data protection.

9. Cookies

This site uses only cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. See our Cookie Policy for the detail.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting existing customers will be notified by email.
